SUMMER SMASH OUT
BEHAVIOUR AGREEMENT

READ THIS TOGETHER WITH YOUR CHILD BEFORE SIGNING

Please read this Behaviour Agreement with your child before signing and submitting the electronic form at the bottom of this page.

Showoff Dance Smash Out is a performing arts based experience. Children taking part can be energetic, creative and extremely lively. These rules help everyone have fun, stay safe, and keep sessions respectful for all participants.

Please read the Behaviour Rules and Discipline Plan WITH your child.
We ask that BOTH you and your child sign in agreement.

Behaviour Rules

Each student shall:
1) Be prepared for the day
Have the required items needed for the day.
2) Respect all members of staff
When staff are talking, stop talking, listen, and be ready to begin. Follow instructions. This also applies to helpers and substitute teachers.
3) Respect others and their property
Keep your hands to yourself. Fighting and bullying are prohibited. Don’t steal. Don’t play with items from home unless you have permission at break times.
4) No mobile phone
Phones are put away at the start of each day for safe keeping. They may be used at breakfast and lunch only, then turned off and put away unless needed for an exercise.
5) Listen to others
Do not make fun of, or upset, another student when they are talking, performing, or asking a question.
6) Cooperate and participate
Make an honest attempt to take part. If you cannot do an activity, tell a staff member immediately so we can find an alternative.
7) No offensive language
NO SWEARING. Staff do not use foul language and we do not expect to hear it from students.
8) Ask to go to the toilet
For safety we need to know where you are. Ask a staff member and you will be excused. Do not use bathroom breaks to avoid activities.
9) Use common sense
If you’re not sure something is allowed, ask. Use appropriate behaviour at the appropriate time and avoid excessive talking or irrelevant comments.

Discipline Plan

Each discipline situation is unique. Consequences may change depending on the situation. Choosing not to follow the rules may result in:

1) A warning
Verbal, non-verbal, or written.
2) Set aside from class
Not allowed to participate for a period of time.
3) Phone call home
Parent/guardian may be contacted.
4) Conference with parents/guardians
Meeting arranged to agree next steps.
5) Removal from Summer Smash Out
Repetitive and severe disruptions may result in removal and not being allowed to attend future sessions. A refund will not be given under any circumstance.
