We understand
that Showoff Dance, Act & Sing Summer School is a performing arts based
experience, and generally all children participating in such activities are
energetic, creative and extremely lively, it is for this reason we have put the
following rules into place to allow the children to have fun and enjoy the sessions
to the maximum potential whilst ensuring the class is kept under control and
respective of all participants.

We ask that
you read with your children the following ‘Behaviour Rules and Discipline Plan’
and both you and your child sign in agreement.

Showoff Dance Act & Sing Behaviour Rules / Discipline Plan

Each student shall:

§  Be prepared for class. This means have the materials needed for
class, stop talking, and be ready to begin the class. Materials you will need
to bring to class include: assignments/ homework you have been given to take
home the previous week to learn and asked to bring to the next class.

§  Respect each class member’s right to learn and the Teacher’s right
to teach.

§   Respect others’ person and
property. (Keep hands to self, don’t copy, don’t cheat, don’t steal, and don’t
play with objects in class such as mobile phones, balls or toys brought from

§  Mobile phones to be handed in at the beginning of every session for
safe keeping, these will be returned at break times only.

§  Listen to what others are saying. Class discussion is an important
part of this class. Do not ridicule or criticize another class member.

§   Make an honest attempt to
cooperate and participate in all activities.

§   Follow any given instructions
when they are given.

§   Never use offensive or
objectionable language (NO SWEARING.)

§  Treat substitute teachers and all volunteer helpers with the same
respect as you would your regular teacher.

§   You can be excused from class
to go to the bathroom, to get a drink when needed but this is not to be taken
advantage of to avoid activities when it suits.

§  Use common sense in class. Show respect for all members of the
class. If you are not sure if something is allowed, ask. Use the appropriate
behaviour at the appropriate time and refrain from talking excessively or at
inappropriate times or adding comments which are not relevant to the discussion
or exercise.

Choosing not to follow these rules will result in the following:


A warning. Warnings may
be verbal, non-verbal, or written.

Set aside from class and
not allowed to participate.

Phone call home.

Conference with

Repetitive and severe
disruptions will result in a student being removed from the class. Each
discipline situation is unique. Consequences may change depending on the


The above guidelines are minimum requirements to maintain learning atmosphere in this class. If these are followed correctly it will allow the following:

o   Increased time to go over and explain concepts.

o   More material will be covered

o    We will take advantage of fun and unique learning experiences.
